Kerry! You guys "out there" have Jackalopes, don't ya?!?!

We're too far west for the Jackalopes here, Doc. You're thinking Wyoming...

We've got the big boys out here, moose, bear, big cats, coyotes, rattlers... one goes hiking or snowshoeing with a profound sense of respect for the critters around you, lest you become lunch.

Your at too high of an altitude for the Jackalopes Drew. They still get into Utah but prefer that northeast corner where they can go from Wyoming, to Utah and up into Idaho for some potatoes. The Bear Lake area is good for spotting those varmints. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Ok, I have to admit, you had me going with the Triffid thing.. I actually had to go and look it up. Got my chuckle for the day... At 11 F it did warm me up a bit. thanks guys.
Hey Tinster, Ya want I should box up some of this genuine NY blizzard and send it to ya???... I read it is excellent Triffid repellant.

I gotta tell ya Ben, I really could have used
your help today. The intake and exhaust manifold
both blew up this morning.

I spent all afternoon installing new ones.

Don't you just hate it when your swimming pool
filtration system breaks down?

Couldn't go swimming all day today!

My fault on the whole triffid thing, sorry.
They're not real, just a flashback from the 80's.

Baz!

Dude! I've been chuckling all day about the Triffids.
You totally cracked me up. Wendy actually remembers
seeing the movie! We both laughed ourselves silly.

Wendy e-mailed the Triffid photo and botanical description
to all her friends.

Thanks for the laughs!

83* and beautiful here on the island today.

Hey Ben,

Years ago, during a blizzard in Maryland,
I filled a cooler with snowballs and left them
outside my house in Columbia. The cooler flew
with me to PR and upon arrival we had a snowball
fight in a client's office.

You could do stuff like that....
"back in the day".

cool.

Were actually having a "snoweater" day. Temps into the low 50's and strong wind (20-40 mph with gusts up to 60). Conditions like this flat out gets rid of the snow. Supposed to be like this all weekend.

I can see some green grass beginning to appear in the front yard and we might actually get the street parking back in front of the house by the end of the weekend. That snow has been there since December 22nd. Which has made this front range town feel more like a mountain town, having constant snow on the ground that long.

Wow, how fast the the weather can change. Out with the sun, and low 50's temps. In with the slushy snow coming down in HUGE sticky flakes, 20 degrees drop in temp in 1/2 an hour. Still windy though. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif Had white out conditions in some parts of town.

Snow is so sticky that its sticking to the sides of anything it can find. Went into one appoinment and twenty minutes later it looked like my TR8 had whitewall tires. Streets are still clear, just wet.

Looking at satelite images, it looks as if We are just lucky to be in the right place. This whole mini-system is streaming northwest to southeast. 20 miles to either side seems just fine.

Weird. But, thats the weather. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Cold snap hit Florida yesterday and overnight. The weather folks on the Orlando TV stations were going on about the cold weather.

They actually had maps showing where the freezing temps would be and for how long. Just north of Orlando they were expecting freezing temps for as long as three hours. Oh the horrors!

It's 32 here, supposed to be in the low 60s this afternoon.
