Started snowing again this morning. Expecting a couple of inches today, 1-3 more by Friday. High on Friday is supposed to be 7F. Seventh week in a row for snow. Farmers Almanac has been pretty accurate this year. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
Pretty warm here this morning, high teens and light snow. Probably up in the 20s now.
We've been driving my wife's garaged truck to work instead of our normal commute car; too cold to bother with scraping the ice off the Hyundai that early in the morning!
22 here today & I'm in garage sorting out all the new nuts & bolts & body fittings for the TD...gotta get ready to reassemble it when it comes back from paint!
It's funny you should mention that. My cousin now lives near Lauderdale and was back in town last week for a few days. Back at Christmas he made some smartarse remarks about liking cold weather for "a day or two at a time". This time, when it was about twenty out, he said he actually missed having a real winter!
He also said that he missed real pizza, with crust. Everyone's from New York so all you can get is that cruddy thin crust New York Style "pizza". He didn't say anything about Portillo's italian beef, though.
I sympathize about the pizza. There is one shop in North Miami (a Ma & Pa, can't recall the name) wot makes a passable one. The in-laws live down there. But SWMBO builds a "real" pizza right in the kitchen here. None of that wafer-thin stuff and no need to risk a trip. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
I'd be s simpering, sniveling, shivering pile o' protoplasm with two days at 20*... eeewwww.
I miss 85* and sweatin'! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
All you southerners complaining still? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif And five pages worth of it...
Here in Calgary it's -18C out today (plus wind chill) with lots of blowing snow, and I'm still going to work today (where I work outside all day), just have to bundle up with all my warm stuff /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif
/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif Awww, come on Sherlock...we rarely get an opportunity to complain about cold weather /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif .....hehehehe
Looks like a winter wonderland...BRRRRR. and they say more is on the way by the weekend, maybe even colder..ugh! The pictures are pretty though. Hole up by the fire-side and enjoy the view till it's gone!! (((/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif))) (shivering grin, hehe!)
You may want to rethink that trip to the beach this weekend...
The National Weather Service in a special weather statement issued today is warning that temperatures across southern Wisconsin this weekend and next week could be the coldest in 10 years.
The Weather Service says low temperatures could range from 10 to 20 degrees below zero, with high temperatures struggling to rise beyond single digits.
Dangerous wind chills are also expected with the frigid temperatures, the Weather Service says.
He also said that he missed real pizza, with crust. Everyone's from New York so all you can get is that cruddy thin crust New York Style "pizza". He didn't say anything about Portillo's italian beef, though.
