How can I tell if the polarity has been changed on

Turn on the ignition and see if your fuel pump sucks gas out of the tank or not.
If it sucks gas out, then whatever polarity the battery is connected to is correct.

--- :nonono: ROB. All this will do is damage the point arc suppressors under the cap, or totally destroy the pump if it is electronic..


If it sucks gas from the carbs - reverse it.--- :nonono: ROB

If this suggestion does not deactivate the pump it will only "Suck Gas" out of the tank regardless of what the polarity is.- :yesnod:

This is of course assuming that everything was running before you got the car.
