I'm not crazy about engine swaps, but I do think the Rover K motor (below) is a good fit in a Spridget and it's sort of still "in the family", so to speak. Good for about 120+ HP on street gas.

Hypothetically, let's say i have $8000 for an engine swap. Which would end up with more horsepower if we use every penny of the 8000 just to build up the engine? Will it be a rotary, 4age or one of these Suzukis? I just looked up used hayabusas on ebay and they look pricey. This is all just out of curiosity for me at least... I don't have $8000 and I love my 1098!
 
If you are going for a radical engine swap, then you probably do not care about doing some cutting on the car. So I would suggest a 2.0 liter Zetec that has been "built".
 
I think I would spend part of that 8K with Hap for a real nice engine.

Could not find the Bugeye in that mix of lovely young ladies. However, saw the engine briefly in the video. Would like to see more. Which album?

Be advised that in the UK the Rover K engine has a well earned reputation for blown head gaskets.....
 
I put a motorcycle engine in a scratch-built se7en. They really are nuts. Mine spun to 13k RPMS, though it regularly got over-reved. Bike engines won't really work well in our spridgets because the cars are too heavy for those little clutch plates.

Personally, I can thing of many ways to [censored] away $8k. In fact, I hope to have my spridget built for far less than that.

Regarding the Rover K series...My understanding is that once can easily get 170-200hp out of those engines by just switching to bike throttle bodies and custom computers.
