OK, I don't know *where* this belongs....maybe Humour.

Anyway, I had a nice Thanksgiving with my seven sibling, parents, elderly aunts, nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, cats, dogs and other random people that may have wandered in by accident.

Naturally, after sufficent turkey and grog, the conversation turned to hovercraft.
So ~Some Of Us~ decided to build one. Right then and there.

We found ~Free Plans~ on the interent (surprise!).

~Here Is The Result~.

HUMAN AIR HOCKEY!

Love it!

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif But, FUN-LOVIN' dorks, Nial!!! Looked like a great time was had by all!!! A second blower should be added to give directional thrust!! Impressive that it "floated" an adult as easily as a kid!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

That was entertaining!

...gas powered blower, tow rope.... hmmm... $5.00 a ride...

I need one of those to get over the snow and down to my shed. But I need to stand on it and have a handrail 'cause if I got down on it I would never get back up again /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

I'm thinking a gas powered, back pack style leaf blower, Nial.
Would make an intriguing pit vehicle, eh wot?
Jeff
In the shape of one of those snowboards the kids ride down the slopes here. Except with a handlebar of some sort to hang onto,
bet you could sell a zillion of em!

Brilliant! That was neat. I may have to try that here. Get the gas powered blower, then take it over to the sledding hill! hehehehehehe.

A word in yer ear: Body armour and a good Snell rated branebucket recommended, Ben. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

I love it! Reminds me of something my high school physics teacher did. He actually had us do a lab for frictionless motion, mass, acceleration, etc.. He built one like that, except it ran off a Shop Vac exhaust. A little unwieldy to ride, but somebody could ride on it if they didn't mind holding the small Shop Vac on their lap.

What was a trip was the day our group was doing it, the school superintendent was visiting, and saw... Kids riding a hovercraft (a.k.a. "The Hoovercraft") down the hallway with a long extension cord, a few kids helping the cord along so it didn't drag, one kid pulling on the hovercraft with a spring scale, and another with a stopwatch counting the linoleum squares as a distance measurement. Superintendent's jaw dropped , then asked if he could ride it! So, we took a brief pause, superintendent got on, hugged the Shop Vac, and we gave him a push down the hallway. Who says physics class can't be fun? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yesnod.gif
