You mean like this:

Okay, braking is a special fun for me. I have a dual circuit brake system and have almost all brake force to the rear so that occasionally the car slides into corners than driving.

You could compare it with a racing motorbike that slides into corners.

A very pleasant feeling to do so. No chance for others to put their nose in. It's really close to the edge :cooler:

PS: I run stock brake drums at rear....no alfin for good reason.

Hmm..

205/60/15 Hoosier Speedster (minimum 60 series sidewall)
6" rims
Metal body work
Min weight: 1950lbs w/o driver (which is attainable)
Engine: 87mm bore max, stock stroke. Production block/head but rest is free
Drums rear, front calipers can be replaced with any caliper of the same material as stock.
Webers (with a bump up in classing). 2 x SUs DP, 2x DCOEs CP
Any production based transmission. Cars with overdrive allowed 5spd as long as 5th gear is .90 or less. Most cars are running dog boxes.
Suspension is free with stock pick up points and no remote reservoir shocks. Tube shock conversions are legal in the rear

So I guess they're pretty similar. I don't own the car and rest of the car's specs are not mine to give out. I hope you understand.

To give you an idea of what we run against..
https://britishracecar.com/BillThumel-Elva-Courier.htm The TR I crew on turns the about the same lap times (within a tenth or two) as this one.

I forgot to mention that for close racing the cars with smaller capathity than 3L are allowed to have 10 percent less homologation weight which is for a TR4 851 kg.
~ 1700 pounds.

Our rules are made to have a cheap racing but close racing. Small cars gets advantage, big cars gets punishment.

That's why I can rub myself on a Morgan V8.
But a Lotus Elan is still too fast for me.

Really impressive that you can cope with that Elva. Very good car must have been combined with a talented driver!

Same here. I'm a life long dirt biker (looking to get into flat track (like your Speedway racing, but on bigger tracks) when I get some money of my own). I know the feeling and it's great!

The driver is in his mid/late 70s but a former top SCCA National racer in the 1960s (Runoffs Pole in '65 and race leader, 2nd place finish in 1970), plus a bunch of Divisional Championships and lap records and IMSA RS driver in the 70s (been racing since 1958). He's raced Elva Mk4s, TR4s, a Cobra, F5000, Datsun 510, Toyota Corollas, and a bunch others all on the top level and at the front of the pack. He is probably more known in the racing scene for his mechanic abilities though. Here's a picture of him in his Cobra https://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/data/..._2nd_Large_.jpg

He still drives like that.

The more you wrote about the driver the more I got the clue that it must be Dick Stockton. His friend Buzz Marcus did do some critics about my driving.
I try to become better, not easy done but with a little help from this talented driver I did well this year and ended up 2nd in the champion ship.

Maybe you do know him:

And it ended up like this:

Yep, you guessed right.

That looks like Walter Rohl. FAST DRIVER!!

I also edited my above post, but I forgot to add that tube shock conversions are legal in the rear.

Good guess - and he is still fast.

We are also allowed to fit tube shocks at rear but I still run the stock shocks as most of the fast cars do.
I don't know why but the tube shocks cars are behind the lever shocks cars....at the moment.
