TR2/3/3A Horn button and traficator does not remain still when turning?

So is this caused by a crack in the stator tube at the horn end or is the nut at the olive end supposed to hold the stator tube still or both? Karl

Happy New Year, Karl!

It is either a loose olive at the base of the steering gear, or a broken stator...most commonly at the end of the slit at the trafficator. Unfortunately, the broken stator is most common.
