Somehow, a bad paint job and the front hood being out of alignment has just spun out of control and turned into my pulling the full body off. :grey:

I wanted to slap a cheapy coat of paint on it to make it look a bit better but I started trying to get the bonnet properly aligned.. but that was caused by the bulkhead so I started loosening more bolts and now the body is no longer attached to the frame, I found all sorts of holes in the floor with any luck Sunday I will be able to put most of the body into my van to bring it over to a body shop for help welding in a new floor.

Now to make this more challenging, it is almost the rainy season, I don't have a garage and I am supposed to have a contractor working exactly where it is parked in about 2 weeks, so basically I have 2 weeks to get the car back together again.

Hope I don't regret this.....

That's how I started out. We'll just do some stuff and get it painted. Well, before I knew it, the body was off and four years later a complete restoration was finished. :excitement:

I think I will find a much better beer than Macabee :very_drunk: The local artisan beer movement really got rolling about 5 years ago. Now there are a bunch of little breweries which can hold their own against the "good stuff"

Fortunately I have a bit of time off from work so I have at least part of the day to play.
There also is a long list of stuff which needs to be done but since everything is coming apart it is an opportunity to solve all sorts of issues like: doors which don't close properly, all sorts of rattles and noises, a DPO put together electrical system which looks like a pot of spaghetti and of course the rusted floor. Happily for the most part there is very little body rust and I don't see any signs of accidents.
 
Yep my story is the same.... before you know it you'll have the entire car apart and your bank account will be spinning but you'll have a big smile and a great feeling of satisfaction! You will have increased your knowledge and be able to talk in depth about the differences in your car and other cars like yours and have conversations that most of your friends and family will never understand. The kids will grow up and be very proud of your accomplishment although not understanding what motivates you to do this as you work patiently on completing your dream, the wife will be cursing the day you started on the project but so proud of what you are doing (maybe?).... ahhh what fun! Ditto on my Wife,s TR 250. We were gonna just clean it up and drive. Now we are ready for paint after doing a frame off.
I saw on OVERHAULING that it is possible do do it in 7 days!!!!!!!!!! (LOL)
