I've enjoyed watching Hoovie's videos on Youtube -- he's silly but entertaining and seems to be a pretty decent fellow. Utterly non-technical, but fun in his own way. His most recent video has him buying a Bugeye. Looks like a pretty decent example, and really has me wanting to get mine finished. Or started...

That was fun - thanks!

I watch Hoovie as well - will take a look at this - still not sure how he adequately monetizes this all though.

I saw this video last night. I'm a bit meh about the Hoovie stuff on the whole, but the joy of driving really shines out of that video. I was surprised that the Porsche didn't inspire as much

Yes, "like a little puppy you want to bring home." Of course having a 1275 with a 5 speed does a lot for it too.

That it does. I really need to get working on my Sprite, this video really got me wanting my car to actually be a car again and not just be a kit of parts.

Oh yes, it made me very sad to into the garage and look at my pile of rust.
I don't even have the rust excuse, I have a beautifully restored body shell sitting in the shop waiting. Just need time and motivation.

Well after having Bugsy off of the road for a month fighting both a bad condenser and Carb float issues, he is back running and I did a 65 mile trip down some Florida Back Roads on Sunday morning. The 1326 and a 5 speed really help him to go but I get the it's so cute remarrks every time he leaves my garage. People can't help themselves. And as nice as this one looks with a Black Interior, with a Cherry Red Interior and Tonneau and Top Bugsy really pops with a color close to OEW. I feel like Hoovie does every time I fire him up in the garage.

Glad you're back up and running, Jim. A Bugeye is cute, we just have to accept that. :thumbsup2:

Is $20K a true current market price?

Hagerty puts a #2 condition car at $21.5k, so if his car is as clean and sorted as it looks then that's at least in the ballpark.
