The '63 has arrived and the top is decent, old, blue and needs just a little work. One of the corner windows has two small cracks in it. Is there a way to have new windows "heat sealed" back into place? This is a very old hood in remarkable shape. There is a BMC seal I've never seen before, heat stamped into the rear window. Neat.

Working on pics I just can't find the camera.
 
&, its one of the early blue hoods....would be a great thing to keep....all the local upholstery shops tell me they don't have a way to heat seal new plastic....what about one of the firms that make new tops?
 
Not sure. The top is not original but is old and really a keeper. One window is a little brown on the edge and has two 1" horizontal cracks. According to the PO, the top was never put on the car which is why I believe it to be in such good shape.
 
I believe the heat seal process you refer to is called plastic welding. Maybe if you look into that process locally, you could find someone that does it. I did a plumbing job for a guy a few years back, who claimed to be a union plastic welder working on state projects. I was dumbfounded that there was actually a union for such a thing. Oh well, such is the way in Mass.
