Did you measure how far above the "p&-'tA-(")tO" the T-pin extends?

Added the thickness of the potatoe to the height of the T Pin above the potatoe . . . AFTER closing the hood of course.

Good thinking there...only one teeny tiny problem...where's the duct tape?!

I normally use a blob of modeling clay. I once had a young engineer going nuts trying to figure out the clearance above the core support on a GM pickup prototype. He was trying to devise some measurement system using indicators, LVDT's, etc. He even was talking about pulling the engine and having a technician in the engine bay with calipers.
I grabbed a stick of clay, put three pieces on the core support, sprayed some WD40 on them, and slammed the hood. Popped it open again, and showed him his clearances. Quick, simple, and accurate.

"Practical" engineering. Sooo many times I've seen the left-lobe dominant types over-engineer a problem... Time and resources gone for a chop. sheesh.

Let's get ON with it, already! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

And that is why I never let my kids throw away their old "Silly Putty". I keep an egg of it in my tool box for just that reason.
