We wanted a professional to change the gas line to what used to be a cooktop to our slide-in range. Doug thought this would be the way to go and our local propane dealer had two recommendations. We only had to wait 3 days. When husband mentioned the name of the company I said I thought I knew the name. Our professional arrived promptly at 2:00 PM and I was impressed. When he walked in, he didn't say hello. He said "You're the people that sued me for your plumbing problem." We did (15 years ago.) and then I knew why I remembered the name. He was the first person we had ever sued but we did have a quite a problem and had to replace over 50% of the piping. Turns out the fault of the problem rested with the contractor who threw the plumber under the bus. I said he should have had the contractor in court but he said he just never worked for him again. He also said that he had never been sued before or after. I told him he was indeed an honorable man and was he going to charge me triple to recover some of the loss. He didn't say anything. I told him that if I had been in his shoes I probably would have made the appointment but that I just would never had shown up. He said he thought about it but he didn't do business that way. End of story I asked him if he preferred cash to check and he said yes. I gave him double his bill which was very fair and said call the rest a tip or better yet tear up the bill. He said thanks and said if ever you need my services, just call. "You people are good people and you're right, I should have had the B..... in court!
