Two of my friends form work joined me at lunch in a little Tunebug project. We swung by my house and pulled Tunebug's bonnet off. Took maybe 10 minutes tops, including grabbing the tools and finding a tarp to put under the bonnet. I'll get it more securely stowed when I get home -- it's really not as heavy as I thought, though I was glad to have 2 guys assisting.

This has been my major roadblock in moving forward on the project. Now I can get busy with:

* pull existing engine and transmission
* replace front suspension/hubs/brakes (have parts from PeterC on hand)
* rebuild rear hubs/brakes
* replace brake lines (I've got hard lines on hand, just need to be bent)
* rebuild ribcase transmission -- probably, as I'm not sure of the condition.
* gas tank, lines, pump
* more, I'm sure!

All this just to get ready for my 1275, which is in Hap's care right now. Boy am I going to be busy! By the time this project is done, I'll have done an almost complete mechanical and hydraulic overhaul of the car. All that will still be on the list is rear suspension and a few miscellaneous bits and bobs. That's next winter's job list.
 
So Drew, you do have everything on the engine disconnected and ready to pull, right? I mean, the bonnet didn't prevent you from disconnecting the pertinent bits, did it? :wink:

I've been a bit occupied with other things this winter (lots of gigs which does equal funding for the project). With the ski season coming to a close my schedule after work gets much more open. I want to take my time and document everything very carefully, so I can put it all together when the time comes.
 
So, Missouri in June?
 
Afraid not, Tony. Funding and time wouldn't allow the trip this year. Should be driving it in June, though, if all goes well.
 
Then keep yuor fingers crossed for me - tub's still in the shop & not painted yet!
