As I understand it, 'synthetic' is still glycol-based and still hygroscopic. So I still wouldn't leave it sitting around. Only DOT 5 (not even 5.1) will not absorb water from the air.
 
OK then, Why is it any different in the Bleeder if you seal it up than in a plastic bottle from the manufacturer .
 
I built one very similar, but added an inline pressure gauge. I've been using 15 psi because I didn't know any better and it has always worked fine. Makes bleeding brakes a snap!

I did hear a story of someone using a bicycle tube type valve glued to the master cylinder cap. The knucklehead tried to pressurize it with his air compressor. Blew the cap off and got brake fluid everywhere!
