Starting on it again on Tuesday - depending on what the doctor does to my shoulder Monday afternoon....I'm not getting anywhere today trying to work under cars with it. [/QUOTE] tony what up wit da "shoulder? due to being in an airplane accident in russia i had to have my left done three times twice by a young doc. i westchester n.y. and finally found the preeminent shoulder surgeon in the world at the hospital of special surgery in n.y.c. and all has been well since. mine was torn up pretty bad. if your doc. says the word "cortisone" brace yourself. lets hope he dont.

cortisone is for sissys. I took a bunch of it til they rebuilt my shoulder last February.

ccougill, what did your doc do administer it as an epidermal? my doctor used a 6 inch horse needle and plunged it in between bones directly in to the epicenter of the pain just thinking about it gets me whoozy, worse was when they injected dye to take some pictures, then again perhaps i shouldnt have first gone to my vet. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cryin.gif

Rotator cup....I already had the cortozone shot with the big 6" needle, it was no big deal...but, it was supposed to last 3 months & it's been less than 2 & I can barely move my arm...guess its surgery time.

Hoy boy, that will slow things down but must be done.

Time to start your retirement.

I had the horse needle, averaging about 4 shots a year for several years. When it got to 6 shots we decided to do something about it. I had a torn labrium and a torn biceps tendon. The jury is still out on how much good the surgery did, although the doctor says it will take a year to fully recover. Next step is an artificial joint which will have to wait til I can retire.

tony, the rehab is a very important factor in how the surgery works out since i had my left rotator worked on 3 times it took me almost 2 years to feel confident about using it normally, heres a tip you should use- on the morning of my operation i got a red marker and wrote on my left shoulder "this one" on my right shoulder i wrote "not this one" my wife thought id totally lost it until last month when an older women she works with took a lot more time to return to work from a hip replacement reason theyd replaced the wrong hip! to make things worse she got a terrible infection and is still in much constant discomfort and she still needs the proper hip operated on. man if that happened to me id own a hospital. as far as them horse needles i guess im just a big sissy! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

Well, they're scheduling an MRI - he wants to see better than the x-rays which show lots of spurs in the socket....type of surgery (orthoscopic or open) TBD mid-Sep when I return from Kansas & he has time to review MRI....until then: Advil or Moutrin!

Man this is all too familiar. I posted a few times last week I hurt my knee. It still hurts and I can barely walk upstairs. Keeps popping like a "Snapple" cap. If I stand on it all day - like I did yesterday (moron) It blows up twice as big as the other. We'll I decided to do the docs today. Xrays in the morning and she's putting in for MRI clearance. I really hope that big needles are not in my future.
