We just returned from a short trip to CA to help one of the "kids" move. It was a big move - from a 15 acre farm to an apartment - and fortunately there was lots of help. ~Really~ feeling my age these days.

Three thoughts...

1) Customer "service" on the airlines stinks. Airline employees need to remember that customers are not impediments to doing their job.

2) Airline computer systems are getting better. We had 6 travel legs total and 2 had delays due to mechanical problems. Rescheduling and lost-luggage handling were far better than in the past, even the recent past. Too bad that the airline staff seem to do their best to offset this.

3) Napa Valley is wonderful. I'd never been there. We've visited wineries elsewhere in CA and other states but Napa is really overwhelming. Gotta go back.

Northern California impresses me more with each trip.

Yes, same here.

If I could start all over again, it would be there.

I find customer service inversely proportional to the size of the airline. Young "upstart" companies typically have the best service. I remember once hearing an interview with a rep from one of the largest airlines. He was telling the interviewer that the smaller lines couldn't deliver the level of service they could. In fact the smaller companies were delivering far superior service and extras.

The Napa valley is high on my bucket list.

One problem with Northern Ca.

It's next to southern

Yup, it'll getcha. My youngest son finishes from Stanford in internal medicine next month and has refused several lucrative offers back home. He is interviewing at several groups in and around San Francisco where he plans to stay. Can't blame him.

It's a more trusting,slower lifestyle than
Southern California here, but we're slowly being in-
vaded with the Southern California people.
