Homage to 66

I was inspired by some vintage pics that were posted on moalachat. My wife and kids were doing other stuff yesterday. When I got home from the Ford Design Center, I just started painting - all the way through till done. I'll get to that MG soon.

It's not historically accurate, as I'm not sure the cars were all together at any point in the race like this in 66. It is a homage after all - curse the French for their treachery./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You just keep popping out all this great work, Cliff. Thanks again for sharing.

And man can you draw, and fast.

Hope you have found a market for this stuff. Really appreciate seeing it. Would work great on a calander for example.

I'm kinda surprised someone like Moss hasn't begged for some prints to sell.

In one day? Dang, and I thought my stick figures were starting to show some definition.

This is beautiful, Cliff, and historical accuracy be damned. This is art, not a Master's thesis.

I was thinking the same thing this morning about a calendar. Believe me, you could sell hundreds of them! I would seriously consider calling Moss about it.

That one is my #4 favorite of what I've seen. I haven't seen everything you've done, but my favorites so far are...

1. The Great Race
2. Tea Break
3. Jaguar D-Type
4. Homage to 66

I understand, you create when it's upon you. I write songs much the same way--when the creativity is flowing I've got to put aside everything else and capture as much of it as I can. You've certainly been in a great flow these past few months. For your (and our) sake, I hope it continues!

Gota get a white Bugeye in there for the Christmas cards. Please.
