I just spoke with a buddy in Denver. 2 feet on the ground and snowing to beat the band. He is in the process of sending me pics. Wowch!

BLECH! "Fat rain."

"white sunshine"

We can't do anything about it....may as well put up with it....(and some REALLY need to learn how to drive in it!)

Yeah, my son is stationed in Aurora - works 7pm to 7 am shift, walked home this morning an' it was better than waist deep he said - now I remember why I moved to Fla.!!

It's actually really nice up here....considering the time of year...I absolutely love it. If this keeps up I won't have to move!

This is how you turn the shortest day of the year into one of the longest... spend it shoveling. Our 'official' snow fall accumulation was 23" in Fort Collins. It was a balmy high 30 degree day today though so it really wasn't that cold except when the wind picked up again. Predicted to get 2-5 more inches on Saturday, not sure where we will put it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Got a path cleared out to the street, had to shovel about 15 feet out from the end of the driveway into the street, to get to where other 4WD's had made paths in the deep stuff. Then since the street in front of my house is a pretty active secondary road, the streets division came by with road graders to push the snow out of the way and sealed us in again. At least the road will be clear once we get out to it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Cortina won't be going anywhere for a while...

Man, I don't miss that at all... I lived through four New England winters and have had my share. The last winter I was there, we squeezed 38" out of one storm.

I'm quite happy with my palm and citrus trees in my backyard, thank you!

Lovely day here, was in the high 60's. Rain tonite and tomorrow, the end of your snow I think.

Not a drop of snow up here in NY yet. I like it myself. Not MG weather but I do like snow. 38" is a bit much unless you plan on going... well nowhere.

Warm here, no snow to speak of yet, just like last year. Mud season is starting and we haven't had winter yet! The stream we're on (about 100 yds across where we are) didn't freeze over last year for the first time in 40+ years. Crazy.

I'm with you Ron, it can stay like this until april and then start to warm up

Great photos Swift6!

Here's a good source of some up-to-date photos of the Colorado storm... https://www.flickr.com/search/?q=Colorado+snow&s=rec

And we actually have a bunch of Calgarians stuck in the snow there, the Calgary Flames hockey team! ...For the now-cancelled game that was scheduled for tonight. Last I heard they were trying to figure out how to get the team to San Jose by Saturday for that game

If this is global warming, I'll take it. Those pictures could easilly be any winter day in Upstate NY (Syracuse) We've had none to speak of so far, I don't miss it!

We've had no snow to speak of here in nw New Jersey...our "big" month seems to be February.

Our house is on a lake and Feb is also our big ice-fishing season. I don't get involved in ice-fishing myself, but it is fun to walk out on the ice and chat with all the crazy folk involved in this obscure hobby.

A friend of mine actually strapped a set of skis on his ultralight and landed on our lake a few years ago. And we always have snowmobiles on the lake ice, often doing too fast near the fishermen. A snowmobile broke through the ice is a nearby lake 2 years ago. It was after dark and they never found the driver.

Anyway, we haven't had a "good freeze" in the last two years. Hopefully, this year.
Here's a picture of my daily driver (M2 Miata) in my driveway a few Februarys ago....I just but the Blizzaks on it last week.

I love how even with a foot and a half of snow on it, it still looks like a miata. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
