front yard looks like a desert

Mine has looked like that for YEARS. Neighbors look down their noses at me... but I tell 'em it's Florida native plant XERASCAPE.

Not sure about the next nearby event. Big one in October over in St. Pete, tho.

yea neighbors hate that I would rather blow my money turbo charging my ranger than fertilizing my yard.................hahahahahahaha

I just look at it as the beach around my pool

nice! I always wanted my own private beach too!

SAND: What native Floridians refer to as "dirt".

John, our pal Rob here is a Florida lad by birth. You a native?

See folks! THIS is how ya build a POST COUNT!! :jester:

i dunno... I got laid-off from my last job this past January. As part of my severance package I retained access to company email, and collected a full paycheck for 60 days, and then got paid for the 196 hours of vacation I didn't use.

About 3 weeks after they laid off a boat load of people, I decided to have a peak at the old company email. Much to my delight I saw they hired another 6figure income executive, when they were telling everyone they laid-off that the lay-offs were purely financially driven... my hide was chapped when i read that email

I missed this place as well. I stopped by a few times, but didn't see an opening to just jump in at the time :smirk:

Well I work for a company making big generators for other countries and since the new year has rang in we have taken delays in pay this makes 7th time. But you can't really quit a job now days so I just hang in hoping that it will break loose again.

ouch... yeah, I hear ya on the not being able to quit these days.

On the other hand, that don't mean you can't window shop for other opportunities

believe me everyone here has. There's just nothing out there theses days

My buddy Casey is a mechanic and he's had a dozen or more interviews since he got laid off in Feb but they always say he's to over quallified. He couldn't get a job fixing lawnmowers cause he was to OVER QUALIFIED!!

hog wash... that's their way of saying, we're afraid to make you an offer because we think you'll want way more than that.

I think its just that people know how jobs are and don't want to hire some one who knows more than they do. Job security make em' think your unreplacable
