Hollywood Sports Cars 3000

That's it - "Slugger on the dyno". That's my valve cover. Has anyone ever seen another like it? Anyone know who made these?

Hello BoyRacer,

What is so different about that valve cover?.

I can see that it's flat on the top but does it have a name cast into it or something.

The one in the picture was probably made for HSC at a guess.

Maybe someone who has one of the HSC catalog's may be able to see something?.

Best regards,

bundyrum.

Barry,
Can you scan the valve cover for sale pages?

I have come up with another Hollywood Sport Car type of valve cover. Anyone yet figured out who made them?

For anyone interested in the SCI articles from HSC you can find them here under "Competition": https://healey6.com/technical.htm

Also, I've seen some HSC license plate frames popping up on eBay recently such as this one:

I don't know if they are NOS or repros, but if I had a black plate Cali car, I'd probably buy one.

Hangtown, Are you from Placerville? There was an article on the front page of the page of the LA Times today, about a dish served at the Buttercup Pantry called Hangtown Fry, a strange combination of scrambled eggs, bacon and oysters....
sounds unusual at best.
Also I noticed you've had a big Healey since you were 17. I started at the same age and was probably the first person in my little Central Valley Town to own a British car.

Yes, I am from Placerville. I have had Hangtown Fry once or twice. I usually get a more conventional omlet when in Buttercup Pantry.

I thought that was funny as well, but for the time it work pretty well as Ronnie collected a lot of hardware.

Thanks! Note the engines show the original cast-iron exhaust manifolds. The two-carb version also uses the log manifold. Pretty outstanding!

The HSC Healey ran in SCCA D Production. SCCA published a list of parts that could be used on the motors that I probably still have around somewhere. While triple HD8s were on the list, there was nothing to indicate tubular exhaust headers were parts that could be bought through a dealer and were approved for competition use in SCCA HSC was probably using standard cast iron manifolds because that's all the rules allowed.
