Hey all! Trying my hand at an mg b. I've had spits, jags, a few English bikes, but this is my first mg. Got it cheap in march, and put in new floors, sills, rockers, switched to dual HIFs (it's a 75) and put in a sway bar. She's down to bare metal now, and I've thrown the bumpers into the sea. I'll be going with a sebring look (no bumpers, but no flares, either. Got new carpets, made up some panels (padded them so i welded hex nuts on the window cranks to accept the winders) She was that godawful mg orange, but the wife wants her robin's egg blue (it's her car) Put a new fuel tank in, and deleted the lines from the carbon canister as well as the canister itself. Have an old crane fireball I'll be throwing in, cut the carb spacers down to 1/4" to make room for the K&Ns. I'll be scouting for a grill on this site, or maybe just make one out of stainless mesh and call it good. I'm doing everything as cheap as i possibly can because at 49 years old i found myself back in college. The minilites must wait. Thanx for having me, and i look forward to your answering my dumb questions! Jay

Welcome aboard, Jay! :savewave:

All questions are regarded as equal, none are regarded as "dumb". Ask away!!

Welcome Jay

Sounds like a nice project and you are well on your way.

Welcome Jay......
Glad you're aboard....

Howdy Jay,

"Welcome Aboard" the Train to Fun Times with your "B".

Hey Jay; I know a gent in the "Portland" area who owns or owned a "Cutting Tool Co"; Are you one in the same?

Regards, Russ

No cutting tools here, let alone a company of them. My handle in high school was "the herald of entropy" bestowed upon me by a physics teacher so it's nice to see I've got family here, doc. Snagged a grill (71) last night on ebay for $20 to save me the trouble of stainless mesh for now. I just read somewhere the Moss Sebring kits are a bear. True?
