TR2/3/3A Hilarious TR-3A headlight rim story

A little humor yesterday. I am a pretty fair mechanical guy (not a machinist)> I have restored a number of cars frame off. Well I bought new headlight buckets, rims etc for my TR-3A. The buckets did not have the notch cut out at the top so I media blasted and painted my old buckets and intended to use the new rims and interior pieces I bought. Yesterday I tried to install and could not get the new chrome rims to fit. Mind you, I am working on a newly painted car so CAREFUL was the word of the day. The old chrome rim went right on. Bottom line is that the car had been hit in the front twice in the years gone by and this particular old bucket was out of round, as was the old chrome rim. Fortunately I had numerous old buckets and as soon as I went to a different old bucket it clipped right together. Of course that was after a couple hours trying to fit the new chrome rim to the first painted headlight bucket. The second headlight was about a 10 minute install.
