We had an old retired guy trying to make a little extra money as our delivery guy for years and he was great! Then, one day his car crapped out and he needed to get it repaired and would need to be out of the game for a few days while his car got fixed. Rather than work with the guy (who really needed the money), the paper took it as an opportunity to stop doing home delivery and started the USPS. I've not been thrilled with the level of service since then.
