Hi, everyone
I'm an newbie - just recently bought a 1974 1/2 MGB. I've previously owned a 1971 and a 1964 MGB. My "new" one is in pretty good shape, one previous owner, no rust, but hasn't had much restoration work done. Right now it's at my nephew's house in Phoenix. He's a mechanic and is working on it for free, but doesn't have any experience with MGs. We're starting with the suspension and brakes and will move on to the engine later.
My question is this: the car makes a high-pitched whining noise when I get it up to about 55-60 mph. My nephew asked around and was told by someone that this is pretty normal for MGs. However, I don't remember it from my past. What should I have him check? Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
