TR2/3/3A High beam indicator malfunction

My high beam indicator at the base of the speedo is not working.

I pretty sure it's a disconnected ground line, however I can't seem to find it.
only the blue & white line at the back of the lamp housing.

(the devil is in the details.)

any advise appreciated.

There should be a ground wire for both tach and speedo, with wide ring terminals that go under one of the mounting nuts for each instrument. IIRC the other end is attached to the ground tie point on the back of the instrument panel.

The high beam indicator only grounds through its clip into the speedo housing.

Must be something going on with the clip-in light fixture or the hi-beam switch then, as the rest of my dash lights (& speedo & tach lights) are working. I'll try hooking up an alligator clip ground to the light housing to test it.

thx

Just a FYI:
found my problem.
when I wired in the new advanced auto wire headlight harness ( which interfaces at the dimmer switch & replaces the old blue/white & blue /red headlight wiring) I inadvertently disconnected the HB indicator blue/white wire, instead of the old high beam HL wire. So I had ungrounded current running around the car, because the old wiring is still in place. Lucky it didn't cause me more trouble.
