In another post I asked a question about where the vac hose for the dizzy is hooked up on a 72 with HIF-4s. To the carb or to the intake manifold. I only recieved one response. I was told it is hooked up to the intake. Why would I ask if it went to the carb? Well there's a vac pipe on the bottom of the rear carb,(only on the rear carb), and faces straight down. It is not the side ports that go to the canister. Can anyone tell me what this port is for? I am getting conflicting reports as I have been told also that it goes to the dizzy and is only found on the HIF-4s. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif PJ
JUST FOUND ANSWERS in Haines, Chapter 4 sec 1 (General description) paragraph 8. (Quote)-Vacuum spark control is by diaphragm, one side of which is connected via a tube to the carburettor and the other side to the contact breaker plate. (Unquote).
