New member here, by way of Charleston SC.

I came here primarily to learn about some parts, and possibly sell them as well. I am clearing my late father's estate. During his life, he had owned 2 MKIII 3000's, a few Jag saloons and a Daimler. While the cars are long gone now, parts are emerging, parts I hate to scrap! Look to the classifieds soon, as I get things organized I will post up some goodies there.

While I have fond memories of the cars, the legacy he left me is the love of British motorcycles. I have 2 BSA's and a Triumph. I see there is a bike forum here as well, and I look forward to checking it out

Ob1Quixote, huh?

GREAT NAME, Robert - you'll fit right in, here, as Basil has the Star Wars thing, and most all of us are expert at tiltin' at windmills!

Good to have you on board!

Hi There Robert,

"Welcome" from the Pocono Mtns of PA. (Hopefully soon to be a resident in the "Greenville, SC" area).

What`s the story on the bikes? I used to have a `72 Triumph Bonneville & have an interest in what you will have available.

Please PM me or email directly with pics, desc, cost etc.

Thanx Much,

Russ

Thanks guys!

The bikes are not for sale, just the car bits! Even that stuff isnt quite ready for sale. I dont want to step on any toes by naming the parts {making this an ad}. Got to organize, spiff up, take pix, you know the deal...

Welcome, Robert...you'll find we all love British cars - & bikes...drop by the bike forum & let's talk!!

Welcome to the forum!

Good that you found a place to "redistribute" those parts. Most 'inheritors' have little interest in that kind of 'stuff' and generally just scrap or dump it. Your father apparently instilled more than an English bike enthusiasm. Sorry for the loss of your dad as well. A lot of us here know personally what a hole that can leave in your life.

Stay with us, Robert. It's a fairly fast moving forum, with a LOT of great folks participating.

Again, welcome!

Many more thanks, and no doubt, he instilled a certain respect of things.

The Daimler at a late '60's saloon, Country Coventry V-8, sister to the Jags.

When it comes time to "re-home" these parts, I only hope that they will find a place where they can hit the road once more.

One thing I will never forget is the smell of Brit car leather in the summer...

When I do list the parts, understand, I'm not looking to hit a homerun with every sale. If there is a board member in the Chas SC area who wishes to inspect the parts on behalf of another, no problem.

Welcome aboard! I have a Daimler, but mine is an older (1950) Special Sport Coupe.

Welcome to the BCF!

There is at least one member here with one of those V-8 Daimlers, and I know he would LOVE to get his paws on some spares for the car.

I'd like to add my sympathy for the loss of your father. The memories will remain strong due to the legacy that he left you.

We'll be in Charlston,visiting our
oldest Son,& Daughter-in-Law for Christmas.
Maybe I could look you up.I have a '78
Bonneville that I need to get motivated on.

I enjoy meeting folks, and would be slighted if you didnt have a suitable adult beverage with me!

I have entertained online buddies from as far away as Australia!

Welcome to the Forum. We just returned from Charleston yesterday. Flew down for the weekend to help some friends put on a gallery opening out by Ashley River. Sorry to hear about your Dad, it's a tough loss.

Hmmm - gears slowly grind into motion - smoke from unused synapses - maybe I should....

Open Ob1's Brit Bike and Car Hostel?
