Just wanted to touch base and say hi.
Name is Don, i am middle aged i guess (40's) and i have just purchased my first ever convertible.
She is a 1975 mgb roadster and is brg. I probably paid a bit over for her but she is a nice clean car having had a 4 year complete rebuild by tis prev owner with only 900 miles since and dry stored.
I have just to bleed the brakes and then she should be up for an mot test.
Her name is Philly.

Don - welcome to BCF. My first "little british car" was an MGB. Lots of fun (except for replacing the heater box ...).

By the way, 40 isn't middle aged. I consider 65 as the beginning of middle age. (I'm 65).

What got you interested in these cars?

seeing these cars fly around as a young lad, green with envy and wishing to be older and richer to be doing the same.
well im older but not richer lol.

Don - that's a great looking MGB for sure. But unless there's been some steering and front end modification, that small diameter steering wheel is going to result in heavy steering at slow speeds. How's the steering box? worn, no 90w oil? The smaller diameter wheel is probably more useful when you're close to 100 mph :grin:

Welcome and that sure looks like a nice B. My 1st LBC was 66 slightly used B that was truly a used car when I sold her. Took me a long time to get another LBC and I can't imagine not having 1 or 2 in the garage now!
