I feel qualified to join you, as I've spent 50 years with British cars.
Including.
A 30s Morris 8/40.
2 40s MGs, a TB, & a TC.
A 50s Singer 9.
A 60s Morgan +4 [new] & a Hillman Minx.
A 70s Ford Transit truck, with custom 4 horse body.
5 70s/80s TR7s & a TR8.
Still got 2 of those, a 7, & the 8.
There was a Lotus 20 FJ, & a couple of Brabham F2s in there as well.

The Ford Transit in Oz had a 4L straight 6 [160BHP] in Oz, so was a pretty usefull little truck.

If you still made them, I'd still buy them, but you don't, so we are stuck with past glory, but the old ones are still great fun.

I rebuilt the 8, with a 280 BHP 4.6L Rover in it, with the idea of doing a Taga Tasmania, but after a few club events I had to admit I'm just too [censored] old for serious stuff.

I must admit its probably true, that the older you get, the better you were, but I still reckon, its "better a hasbeen, than a never was".

Thank for the welcome fellers.

Basil, I bought my Morris 8/40 in February 1957, so I've only got a few months to go.

Bibber, I'm not too proud to be seen in any of those, either, especially if they were going topless. I live about 70Km out of the state capital, in a rural area, right on the car club sunday run circuit.

One of the ones I love is the Topless Yank Club, with their 50s & 60s US cruisers. Boy, don't they keep them in great condition. I didn't like them that much, in their day, but they make me smile now.

Judow, one of the few British sports cars I've never been in, is the 4 pot Healey. If I ever get to New Mexico, can I look you up for a run?

So, thanks fellers, If I've been re-born into a madhouse, I think I'm going to like it.

Phil.
