Hi everyone, I just joined as this seems like a great forum with lots of knowledgeable people :smile: I have a 1965 Austin Healey 3000 which I currently have stripped down to it's component parts. The car is an original UK RHD model, built in March 1965, so one of the last cars to be built without separate side repeaters. The car was factory fitted with OD, leather interior, heater etc... but unusually it has steel disc wheels.
I have concentrated my efforts on amassing new old stock parts for the last few years as I haven't had a great deal of time to spend on the car itself due to having a young family, but I am trying to put some time into restoring the parts I have to hand.
Look forward to discussing healeys (and asking one or two daft questions!) :smile:
 
Welcome aboard. You have an edge over most of us in that the manual was written in your language. We colonists still have trouble with words like "hood". Oh wait, that's the other thing. :laugh:
 
:savewave: Welcome and be sure and go to the Austin Healey Forum. Our Healey folk are a wealth of information. We can tell you a lot about your cars. We colonists seem to have an affinity for the cars of the mother country.

Steve, I am from Stoke-on-Trent (someone has to live there!!!) so not too far from Wolverhampton.

A bit more about my car for anyone that may be interested - When I purchased my car its history was unclear other than the fact that it was a UK car and had spent some time in the Wirral area. It fortunately still retained one of the original registration plates which were from the Leicester area, and so an enquiry with Leicestershire County Council gained me a photocopy of the Vehicle Licensing records entry which showed the original owners to be a firm of solicitors. A little more digging revealed that the firm was now a large law practise in Leicester, and after much pestering of retired employees, I found out who the original owner was, and managed to make contact with his grandson who remembered tales his grandfather had told him of the ā€˜beastā€™! Apparently he was an enthusiastic driver but had a severe heart condition (he had 17 heart attacks!), and occasionally when pushing the Healey a bit hard he had to pull over until the tightening in his chest subsided!!! A true enthusiast! He went from the BJ8 to a TR6 I believe
Anyway, Iā€™ll stop rambling on now!!!
