Hi , over the past 5 years I have had my lightweight road/race 1971 Spitfire built .
It should be going on the rolling road in the next couple of weeks just in time for 7 months of winter . Shame .
It is powered by a 2.0 Fiat/Lancia twin cam from the same period . However the block/crank was new old stock , in fact nearly every part of the car is new so it is really a 0 miles car . The engine runs individual throttle bodies controlled by an Omex ECU . The head is a worked big 8 valve Lancia Delta unit . The rods are Arrow and the springs are ISKY . An Allison header leads to the side exhaust . The dry sump was designed by Guy Croft and the pump was purpose designed by Titan in Cambridgeshire .
A lightweight flywheel holds a twin plate cerametalic Tilton clutch . An aluminium TranX ( Quaife ) Ford type 9 is linked via a Guy Croft adapter plate . There is a choice of two Subaru R160 differentials both 4.11 , one is fitted with a Quaife ATB the other a Kaaz 1.5 way .
The rear suspension has been redesigned with a lower A arm and a tie bar upper system. The rear corners are all MGF and the front corners are all Caterham .
The cooling is via a Davies Craig electric pump and controller and a Caterham radiator .
The bonnet , doors , boot lid and targa top are all fiberglass . Seats are Kirky with SCHROTH 4 points .
There are aluminium twin fuel tanks in the boot .
I will endeavour to post a couple of pics but IT is not my strength .
Thanks for sharing , Matt

"IT is not my strength" - I'd bet most of us here feel the same way!

Welcome to BCF. We'll have folks to advise on your work if asked - but I'm thinking you can provide us some advice yourself. That is quite a brake system!

Most of my pics are clearly too big to post so only limited options .
All you need to do is make copies and resize them to be under 4MB file size. Also, rather than add images as attachments, instead click the "insert image" icon in the editor (looks like a picture frame with mountain, just left of the smilies icon). That will insert your images as inline pictures in your post rather than as thumbnails that require clicking. I'll fix yours to add them in-line.

girgeous car! welcome!!!
