I own a 1977 MGBGT which I've had for the last 2 years. I owned a 1972 MGBGT in the late 70s and early 80s and my one big regret was that I sold it due to too many traffic infringements. Our police officers didn't have a great sense of humour.
I luv my MG and with summer coming on it will be great.

"Traffic infringements" is what caught my eye - bet you have some good stories, Russ...can't wait to hear them.

Russ,
Let me add my welcome to you. You have found the Best forum on the internet. Be sure to share some of your stories when you drop in the Pub. As many of us are starting to pack up our "toys" for the winter, you can keep rubbing it in when you talk about your rides in the New Zealand summer.

Enjoy the Ride.

Hi, Russ, and welcome to the looney bin.
North Island, or South? I'd love to come over and run the Milford Road one time in a LBC!
Jeff

Thanks for your kind words of welcome. I come from a small town in Canterbury in the South Island called Kaiapoi. It's about 10km north of Christchurch which is the home of our great rugby team called the Canterbury Crusaders. Yes it's getting hotter here every day. It was about 23 degrees C today but will get hotter yet.
Sorry Basil I haven't heard of anybody named Benson.
As for my previous traffic infringments let us just say that the traffic officers in question had a different interpretation as to what was too fast than what I did.

Welcome, Russ! I've a mate in your area just now. down in Oamaru. I suspect he'd be hard t' miss, bein' about the only yank in the area. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Yes Oamaru is approx 150 miles south of here. I travel thru there when I visit my sister in Invercargill. I actually work for an American owned company so there are lots of yanks around here. The roads are just getting interesting as there are a lot of long straights for the first 100 miles

Russ
welcome, but I think you are living in a dream world. NZ rugby and the word 'great' don't usually go together.........lol
(I'm ducking for cover). At least you guys didn't suffer defeat by the Poms in the world cup.
Regards
Craig

I see Oamaru! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
