It is amazing to me that many of these classic looking cars were only 25 - 30 years old then, and no my TR3B is approaching 50. Most of the cars in this film were not that old at the time.
And it is fun watching the men in suits and fedoras carrying car parts. I know there is not much British in here, but I was at least two in the background in my first quick viewing.

Neat, All them guys "our age" are long gone. They smoked a lot back then....ignoring the steamers, tailpipe smoke seemed to be the norm. Couldn't be cold enough for condensation, as short sleeves were the uniform of the day.

The "regular" cars in the parking lot are todays show cars. Neat video.

I was about to post exactly the same thing. Wish the camera man had spent some time just walking around the parking lot. But back then, who would care about taking pictures of the visitors' cars? Love the Rambler station wagon!

Funny, I was at the Hershey Car Show on Friday. The weather was perfect! Saw only two TR6's and a couple of Healeys.
Anyone else go?

Sorry I didn't get to see the booth Dave... as you know there is so much to see and one day is hardly enough.

So Neat. Thanks for posting. I was there again this year - beautiful weather (as it appears was also the case in '62).

Great video! I wonder how many of those old vintage cars are still around anymore... And just so you know, I still wear a fedora hat in 2011, not usually with a suit though, and I wasn't born until ten years after this video

Baseball caps aren't real hats! :hammer: Uh oh, now I started an argument... :cooler:

Although I wear baseball caps most often, I have a tweed driving cap, and a leather bomber helmet for driving the LBC, and I wear a fedora or a trilby from time to time as well.

Although curiously the classic cars are driving in the same lot as the spectators. And, if you look in the background it looks like allmthencars are parked together - old and new. Makes me wonder if it was more of a swap meet that some drove oldmcars to. I would guess that many still exist as they were already cherished then, not like the used cars everyone else was driving

Hershey is the largest AACA National meet each October. It runs several days, and has a mega-flea market, and some of the nicest antique cars you will ever see over acres and acres. When I used to live within a few miles, I would spend hours walking the flea market after work each night and only see part of it.
I believe this is a parade of the entered show cars and they are driving past some spectator cars in the massive parking lots at Hershey. I am sure those that attended this year can add more.

Dave is exactly right... the flea market is a show in itself. You could spend you entire time at the flea market and never see it all.
This year I chose to walk the perimeter and see just the cars that were for sale. The one that caught my eye was a Muntz Road Jet. Never heard of it before the show... nicely restored.

I agree. My guess the film was of vehicles that had won awards. These cars then would have entered the stadium (the stadium can be seen in the background of the film)and paraded around the track (or possibly they already had and were exiting).
Here's a nice aerial photo of the '66 meet, hard to believe but it's small in comparison to the '11 Fall Meet.

That photo brought back some memories....
You see the airfield at the top of the photo? Many years ago I landed a plane there.... upon taking-off, 4 or 5 kids came running down the hill from the Hotel Hershey (there was no fence). To my horror they ran right across the runway as I'm gaining speed. I pulled up and cleared them... I hope they had a change of clothes!
The airfield is no longer there.

Not much British??

1:00, 1:22, 1:45, 2:33, 3:12, 6:45, 8:06, 8:33 and 8:55 - all early Rollers...doesn't get much more British than that!

Great video. Thanks for posting. We were at Hershey this past weekend with my dad, and he was reminiscing about the early days. He was there in 1962, with his 1932 Packard Victoria. I didn't spot it in the video, however.

Anyone else notice the famed Mormon Meteor Duesenberg?
