They spent MONEY to study that?!?!

I s'pose it was "free" grant money so... good we finally have a definitive answer to this burning issue.

Women drivers!

Women drivers!

Watch out now!!!! I drive a suburban and can parallel park it with a bike rack and four bikes in a smaller spot than that!!! Stupidity doesn't have to have a gender attached!!!

I love bumping into SUV's that have been parked right next to the driverside white line when I'm looking for a parking space.....I'll pull my big Dodge into the empty space next to it that nobody else will take because they can't get out both sides of their car.....only, I put my truck right on the passenger side white line, go inside, find a chair next to the window & enjoy a hot chocolate watching a woman with lots of packages (sometimes a child or two in tow) try to figure out how to get into her SUV!!

& everytime I've done that, the driver of the SUV parked too close to the white line has been a woman!

Perhaps she was forced to park over near the line because when she arrived some jerk driving a little sedan pulled into the spot next to her all catty whompus and she was forced to either park near the line or find a space halfway across a busy lot and then try and navigate a lot of stupid drivers with two or three toddlers in tow while trying to carry a load of groceries. (Not to mention the huge diaper bag and stroller and the rest of the circus that is required to be prepared when out with young kids) and don't even go there about how she shouldn't be trying to navigate a busy parking lot full of stupid drivers with kids in tow...the luxury of shopping without children is generally afforded to men only.

Terri....you saying men don't run upon little sedans parked all catty whompus?

Start watching & give me the results of your study.......don't take it all personal & stuff......remember, I take my little grandson out lots of times & carried all that paraphenelia before he was potty trained....it is still hard to get him out of that seat in the back of my daughter's big SUV with cars on both sides - especially if one is up against the white line.

Though I have often wondered if new construction in malls are putting smaller parking spaces down to make room for more shoppers.

I have to agree whole-heartedly about the construction reducing the size of parking spaces. I don't shop at malls, but locally we have had three of our grocery stores recently undergo major construction and renovation. Two of the three made the spaces so small it is just about impossible to drive my suburban around let alone pull into the spaces they set up. If I have to go to one of those stores to shop, I will always take the Alfa or the B.
On a lighter note.....I NEVER take anything you guys say personally...just feel sometimes like I need to remind some of "the guys" that there are lots of us "girls" out there who know how to use our signals, don't put on make-up or talk on the phone while we drive AND even know how to work on our own cars. I guess it was just a nudge to be careful about lumping people into groups. Sorry...been looking for a used car today for my brother in law...it always puts me in a bad mood.
