With all the wildland fires,It'd be nice to hear from forum members there,
& let us know how you're doing.
 
I've been checking Club member addresses on the fire maps and so far, we're OK up north. Unfortunately we apparently lost the Donald M. Healey Memorial Redwood Grove, though.
 
The fire maps are interesting to watch. With the temperatures 90-105 in areas of the fires, those crews are working hard! We are just getting a lot of smoke where we live. One fire was 8 miles away but that one was extinguished. a Friend of ours stayed at his house in the Lake Berryessa area to fight the fire and is now in the UC Davis burn center. He saved his house but risked his health. Made me think of what I need to save if a fire comes. Not much I can't live without.
 
Makes you wonder if in those type areas the days of the underground bomb shelter, abet with a different purpose, might have returned. A place to quickly throw photos, documents and other treasured items as well as shelter for a couple days or so as the threat moves through.
