Tokamaks and Fusors, etc., have been around for decades. What's the "great leap forward" with the Lockheed idea?

Are they saying it will produce electric power in a decade? or just that they'll have their own successful fusion reactor in a decade?

That's gonna surprise the bejeepers out of a lot of Annapolis grads who all along thought they were working with fission reactors.

It's always been just "30 years" away... though I didn't hear them say that this time. Hmmmm.
 
When the results are replicated by others and they can show power generation, then I'll get excited. Seems like so many times when a breakthrough is announced the results don't hold up.

Yup. And this non-editing of published works (especially in supposed professional pubs) is maddening. Seems the "editors" run a spell check and if that shows no errors, that's good enough.
