Can anyone see anything wrong with this picture?

That's one way to get a little more throw on the slave cylinder. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

I scrolled down but not over. I was sitting here thinking what's wrong? Nothing.
Now I see!
This will make a great PO story some day. No lock washers, a square nut on one end. Where did you get this picture? Alabama?

Maybe that is a picture of Brosky's old clutch setup. Ya think?

Bill

It looks just fine, but the lower bolt is shorter than the upper, which may lead to difficulty in future adjustments, via the bolt and washer method currently employed.

Hey Bill, I saw that remark!

I actually should have taken pics of the spring setup that we rigged up at a BMCNE Tech Session to reduce the squeal by 50%. It lasted for about 100 miles and was back 100%. I was too lazy to crawl back under to remove the springs, so they stayed until Erik took it out on Monday.

This shot was taken by me yesterday morning here in God's Country (Alabama) HOWEVER, Let it be said that this car has just made the voyage down south from Upstate New York. This little modification was made by a Yankee.... You can tell by the lack of Bailing wire and/or duck tape.

You actually believe something told to you by an upstate New Yorker??? No self respecting NY'er would ever use a square nut by itself! They come in pairs, for cryin' out loud.

Everyone north of the Mason Dixon line knows that.

Unless, of course, you buy them from WalMart, where everyone knows the contents of those bubble packs of hardware come in odd numbers, so you will always have to buy an extra pack for your project.

Yes, I admit, I do have a couple of the Devil's Store's products on my car.

Do they have WalMart in England yet?

Bill

Are you talking about Jolly Old England or our very own New England? Yes, we do have Wal-Marts, or the "land of a thousand languages" as we affectionately refer to them.

I really think that the Tower of Babel was being built on a future Wal-Mart site and that's where we all stopped being able to communicate in one language

I may need to make one distinction that may change everything concerning the origin of this hi tech modification.... The car was bought in New York, Although the car was restored in British Columbia a few months earlier. Is there much differance in how New Yorkers and Canadians Rig things up? I mean they all look the same to me... other than the Elmer Fudd hats.

Let me get this straight...you're in Bama' with a Brit car bought in NY, that was repaired in another country altogether???

Sounds to me, like you in a heap a trouble, boy!

Well, for the record...
I did that exact thing myself. That third hole in the throwout arm was not enough to get the clutch disengaged. Not sure if it was a master cylinder with .70 bore matched up with a slave of .75.... but it DID work just fine.
..ain't got to using tin foil wrapped around blown fuses....yet

hey,
before you point fingers, you're the one who bought it!

Nah.... It just sounds like he owns a Triumph!

I work on cars for club members and this one is for a good friend of mine. He drove the car and loved it but, didn't do his homework on her. This is one of the many things I've found wrong...with a $23,000 dollar car.
