We have three lasers here at work. Operator disabled the saftey to cut something that was too large to fit. Disabling the saftey allows the door to be open but the machine to still operate. Sliced his finger pretty good when he stuck it under the beam. Smelled real nice too.

You mean like these Doc? Did these a few years ago for Colorado State University College of Engineering as well. These are also on my webpage.

Sometimes old school works VERY well! The visible laser beam is actually cigarette smoke blown through the area while the shutter was open. (most of the artificial/special effects smokes can leave a residue on things, not good when optics and laser refraction is involved /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif )


This one is from an auditory lab where they study gaits (your walk) and how sounds affect your balance etc... They have done some groundbreaking work on some auditory issues.

Simple concept shown in many camera manuals for 'rear curtain sync' with flash. Mine is slightly more elaborate though.

Combination of flash and hot lights. On these shots, the shutter only opens once and is held open. So..., technically, these could be called single exposures if the camera is considered to be the determiner for an 'exposure'. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Honed my technique in that area with things like this action photo... ... and a lot of Polaroid film... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif Especially difficult with a 'black on black' subject. (James' uniform and the background)
