Well I'm having some trouble in deciding a set of dual carbs. I'm looking for the 1980 spec UK carbs. What S/U's to use?

I should have clarified. Spitfire 1500

FYI - I have a spare euro manifold and linkage set up a 1500.

I think HS2 1.25 would be better than larger, you can over carb the engine pretty easily from my research.

dnk, my plans for the car are to make it a LHD UK spec car, so from my research, I'm looking at the dual carbs, 9.5:1 CR (flat top pistons and .080 off the head), dual valve springs, 45d4 distributor.

I figure 76 HP at the crank is a good plan.

That'd handle HS4's. But I think the 2's would be just as effective after rejetting (needles and some fettling with A/F ratio meter). And easier to find manifold and bits for.
