Ok I need some help with something. I just bought a 1927 Oakland Luxury Touring Sedan ( yes I know not a Healey). I am driving it now but the fuel tank is gummed up with old gas after sitting for the past 40 odd years. Is there anything I can use to remove the old varnish and crud before I steam clean it out. Lynne loves it but not as much as her Healey. Guess this is my next project. Skip

Hi Skip, perhaps you could load the tank with parts dip and let it set a bit then flush it out.---Keoke-?

Thanks Yoda that was my only idea too, when I removed the fuel line I had to use one a screw driver to get any of the old fuel to run out

Hi Skip,

Both the Por 15 folks and Hirsch Auto sell a product called Marine Clean that is designed for this. If you need to then seal the tank I would recommend the Hirsch sealer. More info/instructions on their website https://www.hirschauto.com/

Cheers,
John
