Can anybody help with where these two black wires
connect? The wires are so short, could it be that they
go back through the firewall into the cab?

Two pics displaying my woes, first of which shows the
wires laying across a heater hose......

and here I hold the wire close to a hole in the firewall,
wondering if the little devils go there, as follows:

Thanks,

There is a tab on the shelf where the battery sits . It connects there. I would suggest you clean it up real well first. Never a good choice in my opinion.
Should be underneath the heater hoses.

Note: I don't use that ground anymore I created a better one.

Here's a pic of the tab Don's talking about:

On my '74. it's about 5.5 inches in front of the heater hoses; perhaps yours is missing?

Black is ground, D.

Thank you, thank you, thank you all.

Got the little bugger cleaned shiny (Dremel wire wheel) and attached.

Pick up a double male connector at Radio Shack and you can have a neat plug for each.

Throw a photo of one of your grounding blocks.

<span style="color: #990000">I FINALLY got every bulb in the car functional
by installing a seperate ground wire to each bulb and
connected to a grounding block. All my grounding blocks are
then wired to the engine block.
