TR2/3/3A Help with TR3 tires [Seattle Area]

I am looking for new tires for my 59 TR3. Based on some research and recommendations I am looking at these Vredestein Sprint Classics (165/15) for my main tires:

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/COK-579821/

And one Vredestein Sprint Classic (155/15) for the spare:

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/COK-56065/

Does this seem like a good way to go? Will the spare fit in my small compartment?

How do I go about getting these mounted and balanced on my wire wheels? Do I go to the local Les Schwab or find a specialty shop. I am an hour north of Seattle if someone has any recommendations.

Thanks for the help.

I had my vredesteins mounted at group 2 in Seattle, but any tire shop should be able to help you out. You can often get reduced shipping if you have them sent to a commercial address.

Great tip on the shipping to a commercial address. I will give that a try. I have a local tire shop as well as a Les Schwab. I will talk with them. Sure it would be nice to avoid the drive.

FWIW -- I am able to get a 165/15 in the spare compartment of my pre-60000 TR3A, though I have to let the air out, sprinkle baby powder on the sidewalls and loop a nylon strap around it for pulling. Not ideal, but having the spare the same size (and brand & age) as the other 4 can be helpful.

It would probably work with a wire wheel also - but I'd highly recommend only a 48-spoke for the spare to keep it as narrow as possible.

155/15 is better if you can find one, though!

I have a set of Vredestein Sprint+ 165R15 for sale. They have less than 3,000 miles on them and were purchased new on 9/26/09.

I am asking $60 for each. They are listed on the Classified section of this site.

If interested, send me a private email.

Thanks all. I found a local shop that has four vredestein 165s and a 155 for the spare in stock. I appreciate all the help.
