TR5/TR250 Help with Seat belts in TR250

Hello:

Picked up a nice pair of retractable belts from a fellow poster for my 250 last week. PO had nothing in the car & I don't like driving around with nothing, especialy since my 13 yr old son has $3500 worth if braces in his mouth!

Anyhow, I searched all over the interior & see nothing to attach to except the large chrome nut on the wheel arc.

Here'a the deal. I have some rough meas as where things go, but could someone with a 6 that has the retractables take a clear photo of their setup? Includeing where the rewind goes, anchor, etc & some dimensions?

This woudl be greatly appreciated. I was hoping to work on the TR this afternoon.

p.s PO replaced drivers floor & lower B post leg, pass side is orig.

Thanks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Gary -- I'll be very interested in responses as well. I have some information, but it's from folks who previously had seatbelts installed. A TR5 owner in the UK has some good photos to use as a guide here: web page

I emailed the owner and he indicated that the car originally had seatbelts, and the outboard connection point goes into the B-post, and not the floor.

Good luck!

Thanks Bill & Peter, this will really help, I'll keep you posted.

Follow-up question to Gary's email -- when adding securon belts, do I have to put the ring through the b-pillar, or can I just go through the floor? Gary, I imagine you were wondering the same thing.

Best,

Bill S.
