Help with restoring broken aluminum logo badge

The right hand name badge on my 1959 Lambretta broke this weekend... It is made from aluminum. Can this be repaired by welding it with aluminum? Can you recommend anyone to do the repair?
Are there other ways to repair it?
Photo's below show the break as well as the complete logo badge on the left side.

Find an expert in aluminum welding, not just anyone. Ask lots of questions on how they are going about it and make sure they know it is irreplaceable. Possibly an aluminum craft person or jeweler too!

Not sure how original you want but this is an option too (and depending on the soze of the job might actually be the economical route)

Larry- You are right... I just have to find the right "craft" person. Taking it to someone who does aluminum welding may not have the skills to do what has to be done to restore it. The jeweler idea is a good one that I might pursue... Thanks!

Elliot, most of those type pieces were made out of Pot metal! Pot metal is nearly impossible to weld as it is not a pure metal as aluminum is, but easy to cast and is cost effective. I agree that a jeweler would be my choice. This might sound crazy, I've seen a similar piece had an embedded wire placed on the back in a grove cut in and dental type metal filled the grove and crack. I told you it sounds crazy. But it worked! PJ

The only other alternative is someplace like Paul's Chrome, they can fix potmetal emblems, but it's not cheap.. Eastwood has a kit for repairing potmetal too!
