HELP! with jag electrical

My brother has aproblem with his XKE,after the car heats up the tach reads higher rpm the the engine is running at but after it cools down it goes back to normal and also at the same the oil and fuel gages read a little higher and we are
stumped I have not had this problem with my triumph so could someone help.

Check the voltage regulator mounted to the back of the speedometer. This little guy stabilizes the voltage to the gauges. Also, check the output of the altenator at various RPMs.

thanks that was the first thing I though of because thet happend to my spit 6 we changed the voltage regulator right out and nothing changed.
we will cheak out the alt. tonight.
