Over the weekend I had the opportunity to get two spare heads that a friend of mine wanted to get rid of.
Head #1 is the Original head that came with the car
Head #2 is a head he had on the car with hardened exhaust valves
When I got home I noticed that head #2 had a screw plug that head #1 did not.
I checked my TR6 and noticed that mine did not have this plug either.
Why is the plug there? Is it a later model? Can I use it on my '73 TR6?
Everything about the two heads looks identical except for the plug.
I did check my Bently manual and did not find anything... thanks for any help!

Hi Elliot,

I am going to take a guess....is that where an EGR valve would screw into? It is normal for that port to be plugged if the air pump and other emission stuff had been removed from the car.

Cheers,

Thanks guys... it makes perfect sense now that you point it out. I can sleep better tonight
