I am is the process of removing by dash to refinish the wood.

I have removed all the fasteners and the glovebox side

I cannot get the gauge side past the sterring column?

What is the trick,do I have to remove the column bolt to drop it down,if so is this a problem with the column alinement?

Does any body know of a article that details the dash removal and install?

try post #528825, it shows it going back in, and as they say removal is opposite to installation, lol

basically the fixings are:
bolt either side thru windscreen support, wing, and dash bracket
2 chrome screws on face, on centre vinyl section (hard to see just under edge of dash top)
bracket on top, each side of wood section (right side you have have to access thru glove box - hole in top inside) and left side is accessible behind dash more or less above steering column.

thats assuming all the dash lights, earths, cable for heater and centre console is all undone. on and make sure the wiper pump and choke are also disconnected.

you should still be able to angle the dash over the column.

forgot to mention there is also a bracket under glovebox fixing it to bulkhead

cheers Andy
