I am getting ready to install side curtains and rag top after a total restoration. Does anyone have any tips/advice on how to do this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Kevin
Carefully mark the center of your top and be very careful about locating the fastener's. Its easy to end up with a lop sided fit if you don't. Otherwise a BE top is one of the easiest to fit.
Use chalk on top of the posts on the car to transfer the spot to locate the fasteners on the top.
The best advice is to leave the top and curtains in your garage and never install them If you must, consider lining the sidecurtain brackets with thin rubber so they don't scrape the polished aluminum trim on top of the doors. Also put a towel on the rear deck under the back of the top. Otherwise the metal piece in the top will wear away the paint on the deck. Choose a warm sunny day the first time you do it and let the top sit in the sun for awhile to make it easier to stretch.
huh the last time I was in the great state of MA is was a clear sunny day until...late afternoon black clouds rolled in... Do you just dart under an overpass and hang out with those HOG guys??? haha
