Does anybody know where I can get a hold of a spring loaded base for a MK I/II Spitfire top bow? I'm missing one. They look pretty easy to replicate but wanted to ask first. Thanx!

Call team triumph in Ohio. He may have one or a whole replacement.

pjsmetana, I've been all over their site and haven't found the part. Heck, I just bought my top from 'em. I've been told to give them a call because they may know where to come up with one. Tom, I'll give those guys a call too, as well. I think I can make a new one pretty easily, but just dread taking apart the good side to check out the spring. They crimped these things together and I can't think of a "nice" way to take it apart that does not include heat or cutting.

I may have a spare set in the box of parts that came with the car. Let me look. If they are any good, they are yours. Send a PM.

Team Triumph will have all you need.
www.teamtriumph.com Scott is the Man!

Wow that's a great link! I've never seen this site before, but it is most definitely bookmarked now! Sounds like they fix and sell everything, and at good prices. They will be hearing from me quite a bit in about 2-3 weeks (I'm still out of the country on business)

I know I have parts of a Spitfire Mk 1 top frame but not sure about if it includes that section. I can check this weekend and let you know unless you find what you need before then.

Team Triumph didn't have one... :frown:

Sorry for the delay, but I did check and I do have a Mk1 top frame and I've got both of the bases. One of them seems to have the base rod from the top in it but the other is open with the spring visible down in the base.

I don't suppose you would be interested in the whole frame with both bases would you (versus just one of the bases)?

Scott
