Help, I need some BT7 trans info

Hello Folks,

I am overhauling a BT7 trans for a friend. I am awaiting some parts and a service manual CD, but they won't be here until next week. Teardown was going great until I get to the point of removing the mainshaft from the case. It seems to me that I need to remove the "bearing carrier" from the rear of the trans case.Second gear won't clear the boss for the reverse gear shaft. So, could one of you fine folks take a look in the shop manual and tell me what the pocedure to remove the bearing carrier is? I don't see a set screw or anything like that, but it is the things you don't see that breaks things. If that is not the plan, could you advise me on the proper method?

Thanks much in advance

I have a BT7 that I'm doing tranny work on as well. I had to punch from inside that part of the housing which allowed second to pass through. I later pressed it back on.

The previous owner had done the same thing years earlier and his gouge marks were clearly visible on the inside of the transmission housing.

OOOPS...

I meant to say I used a punch to force out that part of the transmission housing that then opened it up just enough to allow removal.
